Awarded Top 10 Criminal Defense Attorney
Alex King grew up in Jacksonville. He was a National Merit Scholar and attended the University of Florida where he spent every semester on the Dean or President’s list. He graduated with honors and a 3.95 GPA while earning a dual degree in Political Science and Criminology.
He also received his law degree from the University of Florida, where he was the Managing Editor of two prestigious law journals and earned awards for his work in White Collar Crime. He graduated near the top of his class in 2010. During law school, Mr. King spent two summers clerking for the United States Attorney's Office in Jacksonville and later served as a summer clerk for a local Federal District Court Judge — experience that gave him early, direct exposure to how federal criminal cases are built and prosecuted.
Mr. King has been licensed to practice law in Florida since 2010 and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. After law school, he worked as an Assistant State Attorney in the Fourth Judicial Circuit, where he was later appointed to manage the circuit's DUI Unit. In that role, he oversaw and personally handled complex DUI prosecutions, was awarded Mothers Against Drunk Driving's (MADD) Prosecutor of the Year award, worked with state legislative working groups on DUI policy, and trained prosecutors and law enforcement officials throughout the southeastern United States.
Skilled Criminal Defense Attorney
As a defense attorney, Mr. King has represented high-profile clients in complicated white-collar prosecutions throughout the southeast and has extensive trial experience in both State and Federal Court. His practice is dedicated exclusively to criminal defense, and he represents clients facing charges including DUI, domestic violence, drug crimes, theft, assault and battery, armed robbery, sex offenses, federal crimes, and complex white-collar and financial fraud matters including cases involving international fraud and large-scale drug conspiracies.
Mr. King has represented numerous business owners, doctors, pharmacists, law enforcement officers, and other licensed professionals whose careers and reputations were on the line in addition to their freedom, alongside individuals facing first-time and repeat criminal charges.
